The Game Plan
The Purpose
GiveMeAPlayoff.com was formed to develop the Major College Football Championship™, or
MCF Championship™, eliminating the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) and giving fans a true
college football champion.
The Details
Our plan for the MCF Championship™ is simple.
- Recruit the 11 oldest bowl games (Rose, Orange, Sugar, Fiesta, Gator, Cotton,
Holiday, Capital-One, Outback, Chik-Fil-A, and Brute Sun), or other venues, to participate in the
MCF Championship™.
- Set up a 15 game, 16 team bracketed playoff system.
- The MCF Championship™ brackets will be filled by the 11 conference champions and
5 at-large bids. At-large bids will be based on rankings, strength of schedule,
media, coaches, and fan input.
- Host playoff games 3 weekends in December and the 1st Saturday in January.
- The first playoff game will happen in December 2010.
- Encourage player graduation with our Major College Football Graduation Program™.
- Recruit as many college football fans as possible to the GiveMeAPlayoff.com team.
A large membership is necessary to ensure the instatement of a playoff-style
championship series.
- To recruit team members we offer them a variety of benefits and services. View
current benefits here. Check back regularly as GiveMeAPlayoff.com will be
adding new membership features soon.
The Playoff
- The playoff excitement continues to ramp up during the 2nd week of December with the first
8 playoff games happening all around the country.
- The teams that seize 1st and 2nd place in the playoff bracket earn the right
to play on their home field, in front of their hometown crowd against the 15th
and 16th place teams.
- The remaining games will be played as 6 of the 11 recruited bowl games.
- Anticipation builds during the 3rd week of December as the 8 teams that emerged
victorious from week 1 move on to the next level of the playoff bracket.
- All four second week games will be played as 4 bowl games.
- The MCF Championship™ will provide travel incentives, including pre-paid credit
cards, to ensure that GiveMeAPlayoff.com members are able to get to, and enjoy,
second week games.
- The 4th week of December will host the thrill of the semi-finals.
- The semi-final games will be played back-to-back, at the same venue, to decide the two teams that will
be vying for the MCF Championship™ title.
- The same venue will host the semi-finals and the MCF Championship™ game.
- The pinnacle of college football achievement, the MCF Championship™ will be decided
on the 1st Saturday in January.
- The final two teams will battle it out for the national title and the bragging
rights that come with it. That's right! A TRUE COLLEGE FOOTBALL CHAMPION!
- Co-locating the championship game with the semi-finals will enable die-hard fans to
immerse themselves for an entire week and witness the best that college football has
to offer.
